Love French and France Very VERY effective at storing heat too! And these roofs are amazingly effective at literally BAKING PEOPLE TO DEATH during the hottest moments of summer.
Many people have died in previous years because of this, the elderly, children and of course as usual, the poor, are especially vulnerable during the summer.
There are acres of these roofs and they function extraordinarily well at storing up an incredible amount of energy in the form of HEAT !

Imagine this in the summer, with the sun beating down all day long and with the climate changes, I believe that the temperatures in Paris can get quite high. The bedrooms and other rooms are right under the zinc and even though there is (maybe) a ceiling (plafond) with thermal insulation, I believe it is similar to a sauna.
